Local bike shops offer rider discounts

Want to save some money? Several local bike shops have offered discounts to Team BP members as part of their “Team Support” programs.

While Team BP does not promote using any single bicycle shop, these free programs allow our riders the benefit of discounts and promotions. Please note that signing up for the program is free, not every service the bike shop provides is free.

Signing up for these programs is easy. Simply follow the instructions described at the attached links:

Sun & Ski (S&S) Official Bike Shop Program Benefits

To sign up for this program, go to the “Official Bike Shop program” on Sun & Ski Sports website, fill out your information and you’ll receive your discount card and pledge rebate card in one business day.

Sun & Ski uses the same software to sign up for this program as they use for purchases.  Don’t worry, there is no charge to become a member of the program., and you will NOT have to enter any credit card information - just your personal information.

  • FREE basic bike fit

Pledge Rebate Program
5% pledge rebate on all items purchased from Sun & Ski Sports – Anytime you, your friends or family shop at Sun & Ski Sports, 5% of their total purchases will be credited to your individual pledge fund for the MS150.  You’ll receive a pledge rebate card with your unique tracking code on it.

Print as many of these cards that you’d like, pass them out to your friends and family members.  When they check out, present the card, we’ll track the purchases and 5% of the total purchases will then be credited to your individual pledge rebate.

Bike Barn 2010 MS 150 Supported Team Benefits

To sign up for this program, visit Bike Barn’s team sign-up page and fill out your information.  They will mail you a discount card.

  • Discount Card: 10% off all regularly priced accessories through April 30, 2010.  Your card must be presented at the time of purchase.
  • Sales: Stay in the Know ... hear about any Bike Barn sale while you train and save.
  • Bicycle Purchase: Buy a bike and get a gift card rebate.  Supported teams benefit from their Bike Purchase Rewards Program. This means you will receive a gift card from Bike Barn when you buy a bike.  Sign up today for details.
  • Access to Bike Barn Mechanics in La Grange.

Teams are invited to each monthly Bike Barn Basic Bicycle Maintenance Clinics.  This is an introductory class on how to keep your bicycle in good working condition.  It covers basic repairs, preventative maintenance and how to adjust your brakes and cables.  Also, find out what basic tools you need. You are also invited to attend Bike Barn’s Monthly Rides that start from a different location each month and vary from 25 to 60 miles.  Additionally, they have weekly training rides that leave from each of our stores on either Saturday or Sunday.  Rides vary in pace and distance.  Go to the Ride Calendar, www.bikebarn.com/get/rides, to learn more and sign up.

Bicycle World & Fitness: BP MS150 Team Benefits

No need to sign up for this program – just let them know that you’re a Team BP member when you are in their shop to qualify for the discounts.

Team Discounts: Bicycle World offers a Team Discount to all teams that promote Bicycle World as an official team bike shop.  In return your team will receive a 5% discounts on new bikes and 10% discount on all other items in the store (no discounts on labor on repairs, or on sale items).

Notification of Sales: Bicycle World will email you about all of their sales while you train so you can save on the essentials you need.

Group Riding Skills Clinics: Bicycle World staff will come out and meet with your team.  They will cover everything from buying bikes and accessories to training, nutrition, and clothing.  They have on staff two LCI bike safety instructors and can put together a bike safety class following the three-hour guidelines put in place with the MS society and The League of American Bicyclists.

Multi-use room: Bicycle World has for your use a large room at their Memorial location with full multimedia capabilities, including internet access, a projector and a viewing screen.  Teams can use this room for team nights, team meetings, lunch-and-learn sessions, safety classes, CPR classes, or other reasons.  Use this room is free of charge.  To schedule this room, call us or stop by.

Indoor Cycling classes and Yoga for Cyclist Classes: From mid-January through MS150 weekend, Bicycle World will offer indoor cycling classes and Yoga for Cyclists classes each day during the week.  A complete schedule is on their website’s Rides and Events Calendar.  Some classes or services may have a fee.  Email Tom for details: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Custom Fit Clinics: Bicycle World can provide custom fit services for team members who want to improve comfort, maximize performance and prevent injury.

Weekly rides leaving the shop every Sunday: This is a free ride lead by staff members. There are two paces, one is a no-drop pace between 14-18 mph, the other is a 20+ pace that each rider is encouraged to stick with. Both can be fun and challenging.
